Visit new lands and get a glimpse of each region’s creative inspiration within the magical world of GamiCon Orlando 2022. Learn new gamification design strategies, play unique games, and create beautifully gamified learning projects. This is a hands-on journey of experimentation and exploration.
As a wizard at Disney's Magic Kingdom, you are involved in doing your part to keep the Disney magic alive for all of the guests. Unfortunately after the sorcerer's apprentice, Mortimer, flooded the utilidors while trying to shot-cut his cleaning duties, Merlin has decided that all apprentices should go through a series of training sessions.
Unfortunately his idea of training means hours of reading manuals and listening to Merlin's drone. Because of this, the number of those making it through the apprentice program has dropped off dramatically, and the remaining wizards are having a hard time keeping the magic alive in the kingdom.
Your challenge is to revamp the training program for the apprentices. There are rout types of training that you will have to tackle:
It's up to you and your fellow wizards to design one of these apprentice training courses so that you can increase apprentice retention.
The magic has disappeared and it's up to you to learn to take off protective spells, see the invisible things, and look into the future. Time is limited, so it will take all your attention and creativity! Led by the magic or Scott Barhold, our opening night kickoff event is a great way to meet the other wizards and begin your journey in this fully gamified conference. We're sure you'll like it.
A NEW gamification of learning experience. Enter the secret chamber and interact with enchanted books and tools to discover your source of magic, found somewhere in your heritage, that grants you spells, daring feats, additional class skills, and other special abilities... all from the sorcerer's bloodline.
While it is often a step that L&D professionals skip, in this session you will learn the importance of beginning with business objectives. After all, how will we and they know that the gamified learning program was successful.
When we design for everyone, we design for no one. Let's walk through the process of creating learner personas so that we can be deliberate in our design. This session includes a working lunch where you and your crew will develop learner personas.
Our brains are designed to learn and process via story. Steve Abrams, Sententia, shares the story creation processes used in Hollywood, to better equip us when we creative narratives for our creation.
You may be used to listing learning objectives, but in this session you will learn a a process that matches learning to outcomes.

No more random application of Game Mechanics to your learning program. Using Sententia's Match-a-Mo game, we will play with matching game mechanics with our learner personas.
This will also be a working lunch.
Tie it all together into a prototype that we can present to our customer.
