The year is 1899, and the city of New Orleans is abuzz with excitement for the upcoming Mardi Gras celebrations. The largest and most prestigious Krewe in the city, the Krewe of Nerio, has just announced that they will be unveiling a new, never-before-seen float for the parade.
The float, which has been shrouded in secrecy for months, is said to be the most elaborate and technologically advanced float ever built for Mardi Gras. It features a series of intricate mechanisms and moving parts that will bring to life a series of mythical creatures and historical figures from New Orleans' past.
As the day of the parade draws near, rumors begin to circulate that a rival Krewe, the Krewe of Hybris, is planning to sabotage the Nerio float in order to steal the spotlight. The tension between the two Krewes reaches a fever pitch as they prepare to face off in the ultimate battle for Mardi Gras supremacy.
As the parade begins, the crowds are treated to a spectacle of color, music, and pageantry. The Krewe of Nerio's float, which is indeed a marvel of engineering, dazzles the crowds with its intricate moving parts and breathtaking design.
However, just as the float reaches its climax, disaster strikes. The Krewe of Hybris has indeed launched a surprise attack, using a series of ingenious devices to sabotage the Nerio float and bring it crashing to the ground.
As the stunned crowds look on, a lone figure emerges from the wreckage of the float, wearing a mask and carrying a mysterious object. It is up to the players to uncover the identity of this figure and unravel the mystery behind their actions, using clues hidden throughout the parade route and the city of New Orleans itself.
Along the way, you will encounter colorful characters, solve puzzles, and learn about the history and culture of Mardi Gras, all while immersing yourself in the vibrant sights and sounds of this iconic city.
